Macy

Now 15 months old, Macy is currently waiting to begin her formal training and is enjoying her last few weeks with her Puppy Carer.

The smart dog has learnt so much throughout the Puppy Development Program and is extremely comfortable in a number of different environments due to the fact that her Puppy Carer ensured she was exposed to a variety of different situations from an early age.

Macy’s Puppy Carer is so proud knowing that Macy will start her formal training soon, meaning that there is a good chance she will soon go on to be the eyes for somebody who is blind or has low vision.

Oscar

Like many of his fellow Petbarn Puppies, Oscar has progressed extremely well throughout his Puppy Training and is currently waiting to begin his formal training at SEDA.

Oscar is a very smart dog and he is very confident in a variety of situations and environments, which is very important for his future role as a Seeing Eye Dog.

Due to his amazing nature, Oscar’s Puppy Carer is very confident that he will do extremely well throughout his formal training and hopes that one day he will give the gift of greater independence to somebody who is blind or has low vision.

Benji

Handsome Benji is now 15 months old and is currently still living with his Puppy Carer in Geelong.

Benji is such a gorgeous boy and he absolutely loves playing with other dogs! At times, this can become a problem due to the fact that Benji can get quite distracted while he is out on walks. His distraction is something that he will need to work on with his SEDA Puppy Development Officer and his Puppy Carer before he can undertake his formal training.

Willow

Now 15 months old, Willow has graduated from the Puppy Caring Program and is now undertaking her formal training to become a Seeing Eye Dog.

With all of her basic obedience and socialisation now learnt, Willow will begin to learn the fundamentals of being a working Seeing Eye Dog and what is needed to be the eyes for somebody who is blind or has low vision.

Willow’s formal training will take around 26 weeks to complete and will see her master obstacles and learn the art of stopping at curbs, so that she can safely lead somebody who is blind one day.

There is no doubt that one day Willow will share an incredible bond with her SEDA client, and give them the gift of independence, acting as their eyes.
