We have been informed about a potential product issue with the Best Feline Friend (BFF) canned cat food line manufactured by Weruva.

The wellbeing of pets is of utmost importance to us. As a precaution, we immediately removed all BFF product lines of cat food from all of Petbarn and City Farmers stores and online until further product testing is completed. We recommend you do not feed this product to your pet.

To alert pet owners as quickly as possible as soon as we were informed of this potential issue we communicated updates to our customers via email, SMS, in stores and through our social media channels, to ensure they have the latest updates.

We understand that this is concerning for pet owners,as it is for us, and they need more information as quickly as possible. The products are currently undergoing independent testing in Australia and we are working with the manufacturer Weruva for further updates.

Weruva has today provided an update to customers following the first round of results from testing of a number of Best Feline Friends (BFF) cat food products. These tests were conducted by independent laboratories in Australia.

The initial results of the limited batch of products tested to date have been reviewed by independent toxicologist and initial results indicate no issues that would cause concern.

While this is reassuring, this is the first set of tests on a small sample of products and more products are currently being tested. As more results are available further updates will be made. In the meantime, we continue to recommend that pet owners do not feed this product to their pets.

Our customers can receive a refund on any BFF product by returning it to their local Petbarn or City Farmers store or by emailing our Customer Service team at [email protected] or [email protected]
