Seachem Prime

- +
Prime is the complete and concentrated conditioner for both fresh and salt water that removes chlorine, chloramine and converts ammonia into a safe, non-toxic form that is readily removed by the tank’s biofilter. Prime may be used during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. Prime contains a binder which renders ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate non-toxic, allowing the biofilter to more efficiently remove them. It will also detoxify any heavy metals found in the tap water at typical concentration levels. Prime also promotes the production and regeneration of the natural slime coat. Prime is non-acidic and will not impact pH. Prime will not overactivate skimmers. Use at start-up and whenever adding or replacing water.

    • Jack says... This is by far the best product I have ever used. Not only is it a concentrate so the tiny cap will treat 200L but it works within seconds. It may look expensive now but when you still have half the big bottle 2 years later it pays for itself.

    • Naomi says... Would not use anything else. Peace of mind during cycling spikes or when water change is overdue and nitrates are high.

    • Damian says... Once you go prime you will never go back. I've been keeping water dwelling creatures for over 10 years now and having tried numerous brands of conditions/agers, I've never found one that covers a range of not only conditioning but detoxifying chemicals quite as good as Prime does. You only use 5ml per 200L as compared to some that use 5ml/20-40L but not only is it concentrated but it also detoxifies Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate in the case of spiking. While also giving addition enzymes to help fish maintain a healthy slime coat in times of stress.

    • Andrew says... In my opinion Prime is the best tap water conditioner on the market, it not only eliminates chlorine and chloramine it also eliminates ammonia as well. Another great thing about Prime is that you only need to use a very small amount.

    • Ingrid says... If you are after the best quality product for your aquarium, be it that you're new to fish keeping, or an accomplished hobbyest, Prime has got you covered for neutralizing Chlorine, Chloramine, Ammonia and heavy metals that are all found in the tap water you use to fill it. It has a funky smell, but this clear liquid will certainly set your mind at ease when it comes to protecting your delicate and often pricey fish from things that will potentially kill them or weaken their immune systems. I have seen this product used to rescue fish who had been poisoned by an ammonia spike to great effect.
