Follow Archy and his friends on their journey to become Seeing Eye Dogs.
ARCHY
Young Archy has become somewhat of a ‘mini celebrity’ in his area, and locals are starting to recognise him for his beautiful yellow fur, and adorable little face.Since settling into his new home with his Puppy Carer (where he will live until he commences his formal training, like all Seeing Eye Dogs) he has become the best of friends with his Puppy Carer’s cat, Tiger. Every morning the two of them greet each other and have breakfast, side by side.
Molly, a 9 year old pet Labrador sometimes comes to visit Archy’s carer (much to the young pup’s delight- he follows her around and loves to play with her!)
Archy is a very confident young fellow and in a short space of time, has learnt how to patiently wait for food, even when it is right under his nose! He will not start his breakfast until his carer blows a whistle, signalling that it is time to eat.
This exercise helps while he is walking off lead, in case he goes too far, his carer simply blows the whistle, and Archy comes running back to him (as he associates the noise with food).Archy is a quick learner and will continue to develop his impressive discipline in other tasks as he grows older.
BAILEY
Bailey has settled in very well to his new home and actually lives with his brother Norton (both are Seeing Eye Dogs). His Puppy Carers have cared for 8 puppies before these two, and love the program so much that the devoted husband and wife team took on one puppy each!Bailey is a brave little boy who loves playing in puddles – which he hasn’t seen too many of in his short life, as he lives in Queensland. Bailey was quick to conquer the stairs at his home, and can now eat on command. He is a clever boy who is already toilet trained and his Puppy Carer is delighted with his progress!
Bailey loves going on car trips (where he usually falls asleep) and the gorgeous young pup enjoys trips to the supermarket – on his first ever excursion to the store, he fell asleep in the trolley and had to be pushed around like a baby!
Bailey has a lot of adventures with Norton, and the property that he lives on also is home to some baby lambs- which are around Bailey’s age. Bailey is quite curious and when he first saw the lambs he ran through the fence to greet his new friend with a gentle little kiss on the nose! The affectionate little pup is courageous, social and clever. He can sometimes be stubborn -especially if he is tired, but as he grows older, this habit will be easily broken. He is a keen learner who is quick to understand commands. He is loving his new home, and is enjoying the first steps on his journey to becoming a Seeing Eye Dog.
CHILLI
Thanks to her enthusiasm (and devoted Puppy Carer) Chilli has hit the ground running and is well on her way to becoming the eyes for somebody who is blind.
