Nothing makes us happier than cuddling our beloved pets. June 24th is Take Your Dog to Work Day! Pets can help to make you a better human and be more productive, not to mention also reduce your stress levels and improve your overall health. Here’s some reasons why you should consider taking your pet to work with you tomorrow.
1. Pets make you happy
It’s a fact. Forget reaching for a coffee for your am pick-me-up, or your pm chocolate bar all you need is the loving lick and cuddle of your pup to give you instant happiness.
2. Your dog will love it
You are the centre of your pet’s world, and they need regular exercise and stimulation. What better excuse is there to get some fresh air and stretch your legs than taking your little one for a quick walk? Don’t forget to pack a lead, and thank your best friend for keeping you fit and healthy, too!
3. You’ll make new friends
Nothing says, “Want to be friends?” like puppy-dog eyes do. You’ll end up leaving the office with five new friends and maybe even a doggy date!
4. They’ll help you focus
While you might think pets can be distracting, your pet can actually help you to re-focus. When you have a million and one things to do and your brain is overloaded, clear your mind by giving your pet a quick cuddle or pat. Then go back to your work with fresh eyes.
5. They have a calming presence
With a wagging tail and a big grin your furry friend could be the answer to reducing stress and preventing you from getting overwhelmed. In an office that has a lot going on, a dog or cat could help everyone to feel better!
6. You’ll worry less
If you sit all day thinking what your pet is doing at home, worry not! If they’re sitting safe and sound next to you, you’ll know exactly what they’re up to.
Take Your Dog to Work Day is 24th June in 2016. Here are some things to think about in advance:
- Make sure to bring things to make your dog comfortable, including a bed, blanket and a plush toy
- Pack your dog’s water bowl, as well as some treats for the day ahead
- Your dog should wear a collar with an identity tag, plus remember to pack a lead for your lunchtime walk
- Bring some toys (quite ones rather than squeaky toys!) for entertainment
- Also bring clean-up bags and disinfectant in case of accidents.
