Pronounced ‘ee-BEE-than’, Ibizan Hounds are a sighthound closely related to the Greyhound. They originated in Ibiza where they hunted rabbits. They are elegant and dignified dogs that can not only run extremely fast but also excel in agility and jumping – you might need to invest in a tall fence for your yard.

Daily exercise is a must for this breed as without it they will become bored and miserable. They like to chase so keep small animals like Guinea Pigs well away. A daily run and game of fetch at the park will keep this breed fit, healthy and happy. Despite their love for running and jumping, this dog will never pass up a chance to snuggle up to their owner on the couch. They are lazy at heart – but don’t indulge this. Don’t leave your dog alone for too long as they thrive on human interaction. They are also a bit sensitive and get startled and scared when unexpectedly touched.
