When the outdoor bark control is within range of constant barking, an internal microphone picks up the sound and the unit is activated. The Pet safe Outdoor sound can only be heard by the dog. Startled by the high--pitched sound, the dog should stop barking, as it will associate its bark with this unpleasant noise. The Pet safe Outdoor Bark Control has 4 settings including 3 sensitivity Levels and a test Mode and is effective up to 15 metres.

    • Stu says... This had an immediate effect on the dog - once. Thereafter no effect at all - even on the high setting.

    • Diana says... This appeared to work for the first afternoon with our dog but now does nothing! Absolute waste of money. He can be standing right next to it and will hardly blink when it goes off. The kids on the other hand HATE it as they can hear it and it hurts their ears. Definitely would NOT recommend this.

    • Lyndon says... i wish I had bought this months ago! Our dogs have stopped barking unnecessarily. So have our neighbours' dogs. We tried other remedies, but after hundreds of hours of effort over two years and a LOT of money, nothing worked well. Then in five minutes this product has changed our lives. Thank you!

    • Annie says... This product worked in less than 10 minutes and now my baby can sleep even when kids ride in our street or people walk dogs along our street. My dogs are now behaving like normal dogs and even our neighbour's dog stopped barking like a lunatic.

    • Kelly says... My only regret is not buying this sooner! I tried several other solutions and of course ensured our dogs had no genuine reasons to bark. In sleep-deprived desperation I bought this unit and not only our dogs, but the neighbours' dogs as well, stopped barking after five minutes. Five minutes. With children riding up and down the street, people walking their dogs and cats coming and going, this would normally have been an awful afternoon of non-stop barking. Thank you!

    • A says... After years of trying different methods to stop my German Shepherd from nuisance barking I decided to try the petsafe outdoor bark control and was pleasantly surprised. This device worked instantly and now I have a well behaved dog, I don't even need to turn it on anymore.. I highly recommend this product for outdoor dogs with a barking problem...

    • HLay says... Four weeks of use. Unfortunately this has had no effect on my terrier. I suspect the yard is way too open to be effective, or the sonic sound does not phase her. Very costly too
