TRAINING TIPS:
Begin in a safe, open space with minimal distractions.
Let your dog explore while you hold onto the lead.
Stand a short distance away & use a cheerful recall cue like their name & "come!
If they dont respond, encourage them with a treat or toy - dont pull the leash.
Reward immediately when they come to you, then use a release cue like go play!.
Repeat several times in your training session.
Gradually increase distance & add light distractions to strengthen focus.
TIPS FOR SUCCESS:
Short Training Sessions: Incorporate sessions regularly & frequently to reinforce training & improve skills. Start with 510 minutes at first & lengthen sessions over time.
Be Consistent: Use the same recall cue & rewards every time.
Be Positive: Always make coming to you a rewarding experience. Do not scold your dog if they take time to respond. Be patient when your dog is learning a new skill or cue.
Monitor Behaviour: Watch for signs of stress or frustration; adjust the environment or training as needed.
