Animal rescues and shelters are anticipating an increase in the number of pets surrendered as the impact of COVID-19 unfolds. The Petbarn Foundation together with Animal Rescue Cooperative have pledged $500k in pet food and supplies to help animal rescue groups caring for pets in need.
Petbarn, City Farmers, Greencross Vets, AEC, ARH and VRH have united with The Petbarn Foundation and Animal Rescue Cooperative during this unprecedented crisis. Animal Rescue and charity groups provide care, food and shelter for when no one else can. They rely on donations and volunteers however, due to COVID-19 this assistance has been limited. Your donations will go directly to helping surrendered pets and people during this difficult time.

How we are helping
The Petbarn Foundation and Animal Rescue Cooperative has been working closely with our partners to identify how we can best support our community of pet owners and shelters during this global emergency.
We will donate $500,000 worth of pet food and supplies immediately. This will include:
- 1.7 Million pet food meals
- 5000 Flea, tick and worming treatments
- 500 kilos of chicken feed
- 5 Tonnes of cat litter
- 600 dog treats
Animal Rescue Support:
- Pet care packages of food and supplies to pet-rescues
- Supporting 33 pet-rescue partners through 150 x In-store Adoption Centres
- Continue to house 900 animals in-store per week
- Actively promote pet adoption and fostering through media
