Dog Food Storage Containers

Dog Food Storage Containers

Browse our collection of adorable and convenient pet food storage containers at Petbarn to keep your dog's food hygienically stored in your pantry. We stock a range of dog food containers to help keep your dog's food fresh longer.

It is important to store your dog's kibble in a cool, dry place that is airtight for it to stay fresh for longer. Opening a bag of dry food and lowering the entire bag into a dog food storage container is the best way to preserve freshness and keep the food safe from insects and rodents.

Our dog food storage designs are easy to clean and wipe out after each bag. This provides a hygienic food storage solution that will keep your dog wagging their tail in anticipation for dinner. We also stock a range of other dog feeding accessories, like dog food can covers, dog treat jars, feeding scoops, and fresh dog roll storage containers.

Dog Food Storage Containers FAQ

The key is to put the entire bag – packaging and all – an airtight container kept in a cool, dry spot out of direct sunlight.

Unopened kibble usually has a best-before date around 12–18 months from manufacture. To maximise shelf life, store it in its original bag and keep it away from heat sources (like ovens or direct sunlight) until you are ready to open it.

Ants are attracted to any small spill or scent trail. Clean up any spillage and ensure the food is in an air-tight container.  You can also place the container in a shallow tray of water (an ant moat) to stop them from reaching it.

Keep raw food at –18 °C or below in a sealed container or resealable bag designed for freezer use. Label each batch with the date and use within three months for peak freshness. Always defrost in the fridge overnight, never at room temperature, and wash hands and surfaces thoroughly afterwards.

Yes, you can store wet food in the fridge overnight – for up to 5 days in fact. Just ensure it is covered and/or tightly sealed.

Aim for a thorough wash every whenever you finish a bag of dog food. Use warm, soapy water, rinse well and air-dry completely before refilling.
