Petbarn Foundation Supporting the mental well-being of Veterinary professionals with Flynn’s Walk.

Flynn’s Walk is a Charity dedicated to bringing awareness to the mental health issues faced by veterinary professions in their line of work, providing proactive support and inspiring meaningful conversations between clients and their vets and to raise awareness and break the stigma for the high rates of burnout and suicide in the veterinary profession.

The Petbarn Foundation are major sponsors of Flynn’s Walk, and in 2022 have donated $25k to expand the Community event into Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, and Sydney, bringing together over 1200 pet owners, industry professionals and animal lovers in the spirit of supporting each other’s mental health.

The first Flynn’s Walk was held in 2018, to honour the loss of Dr. Flynn Hargreaves Since then Flynn’s Walk and the spread of this message has been phenomenal. This year, The Petbarn Foundation is working hard to expand this platform and encourage support by not only the veterinarian industry, but also the public who can care for their pets and their friends by showing compassion to the profession.

The attendance of pet-owners at other Flynn’s Walk events around the country has been integral in raising awareness in the community about the challenges veterinarians face in their line of work, and build public compassion, patience and understanding.
